HYDROGEN REFUELLING
STATION AT GTAA

Carlsun has built and will operate the first light- and heavy-duty hydrogen fuelling station in Ontario. This station, located at Toronto Pearson International Airport, will allow Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) to undertake trials of hydrogen-powered vehicles, and the station will also be open to the public.

This is the first fueling station towards an Ontario-wide business strategy that will use both on-site refuelling and direct delivery to support businesses and governments in reaching their zero-emission mobility objectives. The network will target municipalities and early-adopting organizations to facilitate the implementation of zero-emission vehicles into their corporate fleets.

Hydrogen will be supplied to the station and will heavily weigh the criterion of low carbon intensity in the selection process. This competitive process may leverage existing and stimulate new off-site electrolyser capacity in southern Ontario by sending a clear signal to the market that supplying low-carbon hydrogen is not just a nice to have but a competitive necessity.
